Esben Korsgaard Rasmussen received his PhD from the University of Copenhagen with a thesis on the philosophy of mind and political thought of Thomas Hobbes. He is especially interested in the late-Scholastic origins of early modern psychology.
He is currently Junior Research Fellow at Linacre College, Oxford, where he pursues his research on the early modern Tacitism, 'reason of state' discourse and the psychology upon which they rely. He has been a visiting researcher at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and the Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Philosophy at the University of Groningen.
